All IF readers have a delay to them when compared to blood, however the algo on board the Libre attempts to predict the blood glucose level of now when scanned, rather than displaying what it was 10 mins ago.
It could be my experience with two sensors of libre. But opposite ! My libre Sensor was below the AccuChek Mobile all the time, 0,6-0,9 mmol/l.Here are the values I was getting from the Libre meter (good old fingerprick) and the Libre sensor:
Meter / Sensor
19:35 4.7 / 5.8 (right before dinner)
21:00 6.6 / 7.7 (badminton game starts)
21:30 5.1 / 6.9
21:52 6.5 / 7.6 (badminton game ends)
23:15 5.2 / 6.2
I do not have enough experience yet with CGM in general to make any judgements..
Can you not claim for a new one on your household ins?So my receiver screen has now got a crack on View attachment 16100
Still works fine but I've been told there's no repair service for the UK and a new one will cost me £600!!! It's obviously happened whilst in my pocket but there was no noticeable bump that I can remember. Really disappointed with dexcom for not making it a bit more sturdy (my iPhone at a similar price has never cracked).
So another issue for us non US dexcom customers.
I've emailed the rep I was talking to from dexcom and asked for someone higher up - see if I can get some satisfactory answers and solutions as to why we aren't being treated like their customers over there...
I'm confused. It's £990 for the starter kit which includes receiver + transmitter + 4 sensors. And the dexcom G5 is NOW AVAILABLE in the UK. Not bad for a newbie at £900 for the starter kit. But the transmitter is £350 for 3 months. AT are unable to sell transmitters on their own for us G4 users so our only option is to pay full price. I am in email contact with them regarding any upgrade options in the future so will post back when I have more details
The G4 transmitters last 12 - 14 months. As I understand it all the workings are in the G5 transmitter so a massive drain on the battery power hence 3 month lifespan.I'm not sure if the transmitters go dead automatically at the 3 month or in reality can last months longer.
There's a podcast knocking about where the dexcom chief talks about this but I cant remember what exactly was said. I think he did say it they will last longer like the current G4 transmitters.
