Was in Denial about Insulin Resistance, How Far in the Deep End Am I?

Yeah, it was a long time ago they mentioned it (about 15 years ago) and I just sorta gave it a passing thought, then it resolved for me, I was pretty fit and healthy at the time and all my numbers checked out at the docs but if I ate a bowl of cereal or a lot of other ultra processed stuff I’d feel almost instantly like I had to sleep it off, (and sometimes would have to) would also get itchy on my scalp too, spoke to a doctor and they just said oh you feel tired after eating is a natural response like a lion wants to sleep after eating and that was that. I just avoided a few food groups and ate cleanly and that seemed to make it go away for the while but fast forward back into bad habits and it started happening again in the last year or so.

hard to know without proper medical testing I guess.

Funnily enough I got an almost wiped out feeling yesterday after over-indulging in Greek yoghurt mixed with a lump of creamed coconut, not as strong as times I would have had it before eating a far carbier snack where I do admit I had to throw myself down to “sleep it off” sometimes when eating proper rubbish.

I instantly tested my bgs and it was 8.5. In isolation I guess that’s not majorly high is it? And it did resolve within 2 hours but makes me wonder how high it was spiking before when I was eating proper rubbish.

Don’t really want to go back there to test the hypotheses.

Could be anything though I guess.

Agreed.
