Peony. A red one. My favourite flower.....

Sunflowers ... like millions of soldiers standing to attention across the fields in France .... and following your eyes.

Cornflowers are such a beautiful blue

Rosebay Willowherb grows in any poor soil, creating large banks
of pink coloured flowers, followed by the seeds carried on down,
similar to thistles.

It's a weed but, as you see, or if you are familiar with it,
it's a beautiful looking weed.

Lupins and foxgloves start blooming well now and last till autumn .

Anna .

Yellow bluebells that look green for the great gezzathorpe

Mimosa nuttallii (Schrankia uncinata)

Another weekend .

This weekend's theme is - types of aircraft .

To get us all started - Wellington Bomber .
[my father worked on these in the 2nd world war]

Anna .

Dragon Rapide ... the first airliner to receive Royal approval. Everyone gets weighed before embarking, as we all act as ballast!!! I was plonked near the rear. 'Er indoors made the mistake of touching the wings after the flight ... they were canvas!!

Blimy Anne my step mother also worked on the Wellington Bomber in the 2nd world war ( she helped in the wiring of the plane).
