shop said:Thanks Cullie, Desidiabulum, Nigel, Claudette and RobinRB,
I saw my Dietician this morning who has helped me to identify that:
1. I need to spend more time practising doing weighing and calculating as there is definately a lack of experience doing this. Which should help with getting more precise doses hence improving BGs.
2. The Hypos have directly been linked from the day I stopped taking my Contraceptive pill for a break ( Symptoms getting worse coz of my age ) and having a big impact on BGs. My Consultant originally told me to adjust my Bolus doses at this time of the month by 1 or 2 units. However it was apparent that the hypos were a result of my basal ( which threw me a little.) The decision is that when I stop taking my pill I should reduce my basal by a unit until I start taking it again.
Thanks for all of your support and understanding guys, Desidiabulum I think you have a good point there!
Claudette have you been adjusting ratios? I have had to do mine a fair bit! Also The daily diary that was produced by BDEC is good however I have rejigged it so that BG results are in rows so that it is easier to see patterns. It is very frustrating when BGs don't budge and you feel like your doing your best. Is there anyone helping you with the carb counting? I was self taught at first but having appts with the dietician and my DSN with regards to this as is has helped me to identify gaps. Keep with it and If you want to PM me I would be glad to help.

Try to stay positive and you will get there.

Hi Lucy thanks for your kind offer. I am a t2 and for the time being I do not use insulin. Probably I should as my readings are awful. But I am terrified of the associated weight gain more than anything. I should go soon to the doctor for another test and i'm sure I am going to be sent straight to hospital :-(
Take care

shop said:Claudette, hopefully you won't need to go on insulin. I do know that the help and support is here for T2s on this forum too and although I am not clued up on low carbing etc. I know that the help is there. I really hope you are not sent to hospital and as for your readings and Carbs you are only human just dont give up. Defren, Xyzzy and the gang seem to have it sussed and are great at motivating and support. Sometimes It just has to be when you are ready and finding alternatives to carbs that you really like. I really hope you stick at it and we all have wobbles just get back up dust yourself off and start again.
Hugs and positive vibes,

Thank you so much for your message, it means so much, apart from Calebs diabetic team, I dont have any other support. I did try this forum a year ago but don`t think i was ready, after reading your problem I know now that there are other people that are finding it difficult. when i see how well Caleb handles everything it makes me want to burst with pride. If you need any support, send me message. xxxx

Why thank you ma'am. Claudette and I are friends somewhere else, and she knows I am just a message away. If I can help anyone in any way then I will try. When I was starting out I needed lots of help, and it worked for me, now hopefully I can repay the kindness to me, by helping others.
Hope you're feeling better today Lucy? xx
