Already had so much help from everyone here...just need some advice...

Had my first diabetic nurse appointment on monday there, posted about it as soon as i got home.

Was just wondering what to do...I wasnt weighed etc while with her, she just handed me some print outs about how to control diabetes, what diabetes was etc...

Have my first diabetes clinic in 3 months time...How will they know if ive lost weight if they didnt weigh me? I think Ive lost weight so far but without being weighed in the coming 3 months, im at a loss...I dont have a set of bathroom scales at home so dont know what exactly im losing...Can i go into my local pharmacists to be weighed? Really dont want to join a slimming club just to see how i'm doing...

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Weighing scales don't cost much, try Argos. As for weightloss its really up to you to take control, the clinic don't care whether you lose weight but you should if you have weight to lose.

I have about 7 stone to lose. Limited income makes it harder unfortunately, too used to buying frozen meals etc, but have changed a few things in my diet, cut right back on carbs etc so I'm feeling much better, will check argos out and see if i can pick up something cheap.

Thanks Dawn xx

They are the cheapest, but I think Boots have a weigh machine. Mind you I'd be more inclined to weigh in the comfort of my own home. As to buying frozen meals, have you thought about doing a proper cook on a Sunday then freezing it, saves soooo much money.

yeah i posted last week for help with bulk recipes to make it a little cheaper for me too, so I'm getting there, been looking at a few of the recipes that sound good for bulk freezing. I'll get there

Thanks dawn

If you're a member of a gym they may have scales that you can use for free. If not, boots or somewhere similar. You'll probably pay per weigh and they are often smack bang in the middle of the shop!

If I were you I'd get some cheap Tesco value type scales. They might not be the most accurate, but you can at least see if you're losing weight.

As for the doctors, just ask them to weigh you next time. Don't ask don't get
