Hi. I was diagnosed about 5 months ago my HB blah blah blah was 60 something. I changed my diet to be more low carb high protein/fat. My second Hb came back at 46. Great! But the downside of this is I've lost nearly 3 stones. I'm 6.4 and can't really lose much more weight. I'm now 13.5 and struggle to keep my weight at that level. I've been told that I'm not eating enough fat. Is there any high fat cook books out there you use/recommend?

Hi @Will burn,

Hopefully you'll get some advice from people with more knowledge on LCHF than I have. But may I suggest having a look at the following web site....

As a T1 I lost a lot of weight in the pre-diagnosis stage and have struggled to put it back on. But now my weight has stabilised and I have gained a little. It's taken about a year though, whilst I figure out what to eat.

Hi Will....I have the exact same problem...I got my HbA1c down to non diabetic inside 3 months by eating low carb and eating more fat and have lost over 2 stones that I really didn't need to lose. I find it impossible to increase my weight now and struggle to keep any on no matter what I eat. I'm not sure there is a high fat recipe book as high fat has always been taboo to the masses. There might be one here on the forum somewhere or maybe if you look at the 'what have you eaten today' posts you might get some ideas that might help I am sure someone will be along soon to steer you in the right direction

Personally, I'd make it simpler than needing a cookery book. If you are making cheese sauce, add more cheese to make it more deliciously cheesy, or add a dollop of cream.

Salads can have added olive oil in the dressing. Any desserts, add just a bit more cream.

I feel your pain. I found it tricky to stop losing weight. I firstly upped my protein a bit, then went for the fats, but have just tried to keep it simple.
