I threw up last night and feel a bit dicey today although keeping food and water down so far. I was hungry this morning so toasted a slice of low-carb bread I found in the freezer but that was the last one. Normally I eat eggs but couldn’t face them.

In the past, I’d have toast or rice cakes for a day or so, but now I’m low-carb I’m not sure what to tentatively nibble on! (I do need to eat something so I can take meds and also to avoid a huge dawn phenomenon, plus I have work today.)

Oh I hope you have managed ok as you will have been to work by now.

Not sure what your medication is, as not in your profile. If I have digestive problems that have made me vomit, I usually fast for the following day. However, if that is not feasible, I avoid dairy and fats, and stick with the BRAT diet for a day or two…

I add ground ginger for the nausea. Drink peppermint or ginger tea, too.The high carb content of BRAT is not ideal, but as it
Only for a maximum of a day or two, has negligible effect on my blood glucose levels.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you both! I should have been clear that my meds aren’t for diabetes (that’s diet-controlled) but it seems like there maybe aren’t that many good low-carb options. I really wanted to stay in ketosis (as well as avoid the horrific constipation I get when I eat and then cut carbs) so nibbled on some plain chicken in the end and was OK.
