What does my HBA1C mean?

Just found out my HBA1C on diagnosis was 130, now 8 weeks later its 72.....

Now I know this is good because they all kept telling me. But what does it mean?!? I only recognise the number as a percentage which this is clearly not. I know there is a converter but I can't find it

Awesome thanks guys! So that will still have some of my very high readings from before diagnosis, so if I'm aiming for say 6% I'm right on track! Woohoo!

For a first Hba1c it's very good mate, you sound as if you've grasped diabetes and how to manage it well and I'm sure you will see a big reduction come your next check-up :thumbup:
