What happens If ????

Hi there. I am currently taking the following meds. on a daily basis as my bs is up in orbit most of the time and stubbornly refuses to come down below 16.

2550mg Metformin
160mg Glicklazide
40mg Simvastatin
2.5 mg Lisinopril
Aspirin

I understand what might happen if I stop taking them but can you tell me what the extended effects of taking these might do please?

Hi bolders,

All drugs come with side-effects to differing degrees and there's been a fair amount of discussion on the forum about each of the drugs on your list. As ever, individuals experiences vary.
One thing is certain though, the side effects of blood glucose at the levels you mention are a lot more of a problem. If the drugs aren't getting your bg levels down, you need to have a serious look at your diet or think about a prescription for insulin instead.
