"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

What a gorgeous fall day it’s been.
Breakfast was egg and cheese and lc bread
Lunch sandwich of cheese and cucumber with some hm pickled red cabbage
Dinner is hopefully going to be cauliflower/walnut taco “ meat” stuffed in huge zucchini boats.I’ve made a cilantro lime dressing and plan on pico de gallo and chopped spinach ( as that’s what’s in the garden, no lettuce left), with cotija crumbled on top. However, spent most of the afternoon restocking logs for firewood and moving a compost heap; now I think the evening might involve a long bath and wine, possibly with aspirin.

Has been amazing in the interior of BC too

Saturday means early yoga followed by supermarket shop so I broke my fast at 12:30 with 2 chicken thighs and some leftover mince.
D: was at friends, takeaway curry. I had mostly tandoori meats and just tiny tasters of the rest. Did succumb to an ice cream after.
Tested when home (3 hours after food at 7.4)

That must want some doing @Antje77. Have you never played a keyboard instrument of any kind? An accordion perhaps?

Confronted with more than one bank of keys, all those stops and pedals to think about must be overwhelming for a beginner, but an amazing experience nonetheless.

What an experience! @MrsA2.
Alas, there's no chance of seeing the northern lights here in London.

With a sufficiently powerful solar flare, they've been visible on a clear night as far south as Cornwall reportedly, but there's too much light pollution in my neck of the woods.

I (used to) play the guitar, self taught, mainly singing Bob Dylan while doing some chords. You could have encountered me playing on the streets of Amsterdam in the late 90s, making some extra money after school.

Throughout the years, I've had access to some keyboard instruments occasionally, and did enough fiddling with it to know where C is and to be able to count out the notes for the other keys.
On the guitar I know what notes the open strings are so I can count out the other notes.
With this minimal knowledge combined, it's possible to work out how to play chords on a keyboard.

Now choose smart and play a song only using a C and Dm chord, and you actually have a fair chance of hitting the right keys if you play slow enough!
Two foot pedals next to eachother to add some bass, and a single finger of the right hand to add some high notes as well and you'll have music, if minimalistic.

Car wrecking baboons in the Safari park in Liverpool, can highly recommend going there in someone elses car.
Unless you're like me and are perfectly happy to have the baboons take some souvenirs of course.

(The arrow on my window is to remember what is left. Will turn it to the other direction when coming off the ferry on my side tomorrow to remind me to drive on the right side again.)

2nd meal will be roasted pork belly, some vegetables and Chinese 5 spice mixture.

The rest of the salmon from yesterday for breakfast. I baked it on a bed of spinach and it is now waiting for me to eat it.

Neil has gone to town to get what he can from my shopping list. There's still some cold pork and a spinach pie (kind of spinakopita) which I might put in the freezer, if I can resist it. There are also some sausages in the fridge which I might use, or put in the freezer before they get too old.

Probably the 2nd meal will be the cold pork and some fresh stir fried veg.

Wow. You certainly make the most of life.

Yesterday I met with some friends at a keto cafe
I had bacon and mushroom pizza (think the dough was fat head) .very filling.
Bought 3 pieces cake to takeaway.
Ate the first, a chocolate cheesecake brownie last night. One of the best keto cakes ever, light and soft.

So very nearly omad!

Today fasted until lunchtime after exercise class.
Reheated mince and broccoli
2 pieces keto cake ( I never could moderate). Both delicious and real tasting.
However within 3 hours massive headache, nearly a migraine. Too much sweetener (erythritol) at once methinks

D: cold chicken and broccoli. 2 pieces hm lc brownie. Not a patch on the bought cake for texture and lightness but hit the "I need chocolate "spot

I also met with some friends at a keto cafe yesterday (odd coincidences seem to keep happening lately), and I had a burger with brie between chaffles, a salad, and a piece of bacon and mushroom pizza because someone thought their pizza was too filling to eat it all.

Today was for traveling back home so I made coffee and then packed my tent in the rain, and left my campsite just after 7 this morning.
Long trip on the ferry where I did lots of reading, accompanied with a ridiculous amount of LC cake, happy to report that the sweeteners don't seem to cause headaches or trouble at the other end for me. Very lucky, I usually don't do sweeteners so I had no idea what to expect.

Got home at 8:30 pm, so a very long day, and was greeted by some very happy dogs and cats, a plate of food, a beer, and a glass of whisky provided by my neighbour, even though he wasn't even sure on what day I'd be back.
Brussels sprouts, cubed bacon, and some perfectly fried and very delicious potatoes.
I decided that diabetes is still on holiday, and feeding the soul with a warm welcome and an equally warm plate of food sometimes beats perfect blood glucose.
Hit a 10.something but dropping now, and we talked holiday, his complicated relationship with his mutual friend, my plans for the future, and of course the behaviour of our dogs, cats and other animals.

Holiday in your country was absolutely amazing, but being back feels quite good as well!

Sliced up all the vegetables and sliced the cooked pork as well, then ran out of steam and couldn't stand long enough to stir fry it all. That'll make breakfast tomorrow. By then I should have a bit more va va voom!

I have to make some tuna melt muffins in the next 2 days. My son and dil are coming over from USA for 2 weeks and he loves them. I can't wait to see them. They are coming for Christmas too. Last year we had the first Christmas together for years and it was amazing. Hasn't the year sped by?

Just had my stir fried pork and vegetables. Made a very good breakfast, but although there was a good plateful of it, I'm still feeling hungry. Trying to ignore it.

2nd meal - oh dear, will I use those sausages, or make the planned Asian style coconut beef? The spinakopita is in the freezer, so that's out. Not much choice because Neil couldn't get either fish or chicken yesterday. Still some of the pork left and some cabbage, so there's another possibility, but I think I've had enough pork for the moment. Probably the beef with cauliflower and coconut rice. Better make a start on that and let it slow cook.
