"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Busy day of errands, jobs and volunteering.
B: 2 scrambled eggs with bacon
L: camembert on seedy crackers. 1 sq hm lc brownie with ff greek
Mid afternoon 1 proper biscuit at an event. Bg didn't even budge!
D: sort of soup (remains of chicken casserole stock, tinned tomatoes and a spoonful cream cheese ) Packet chorizo thins.
Later at book club in pub, 1 small glass red wine. £6.50!!!!
Later still, 2 slices hm lc soda bread with butter. 2 sqs 90% chocolate. Few walnuts

Oh - it was edible, but it was just a spiced stew - not really a curry. A proper curry depends on frying a lot of onions and spices to get the right texture a flavour. So far, I still can't cut up vegetables so no chopped or sliced onions.

Breakfast today will be veg soup.

2nd meal will be more of the precooked chicken with a pack of sliced mushrooms Neil bought for me plus some peas and some dried fried onions. Just another stew. Might add cream.

The hand has improved all by itself. Still can't put any pressure on it but at least, as long as I don't use it, it is fairly pain free. No help at all from any of the health services here, so just as well it sorted itself out. Even the stronger pain killers I requested didn't materialise - no doctor available to prescribe them.
 
DIL was summoned to court yesterday about the incident with Archie and Banksie some months ago. The Sheriff started off by saying he hadn't looked at the papers, so needed a resume. The police gave him a quick summary (at which he said he thought it a little hard on Archie being put down) but they had it wrong. They said that Banksie had done the biting, whereas the victim had said that it was Archie. In any case, the police hadn't got the case together so it couldn't proceed. It's been put off for 6 weeks to give them time to do the work. Why they couldn't have just put the case off before Alistair and DIL had to take time off work, and get their lawyer to go to court with them, I can't imagine. One word comes to mind - it starts with In and ends in petence.

2nd meal will be the rest of the chicken and mushrooms from yesterday.

Nearly didn't get to me leg appointment today. The car wouldn't start. Neil got the spare battery out and linked it up, but it wouldn't work either - 2 flat batteries. Finally got it going after quite a delay using the booster that plugs into the mains. Got there about half a minute late, but it was OK because the nurse was a good 5 minutes late anyway. Had a surprise blood test so now another 3 bruises to add to the ones from last week. At least the nurse managed to get blood on the 3rd attempt.

Today
10:00 2 scrambled eggs and 3 rashers bacon. Cwc
Double dance class
Then did supermarket shop, after a stupid tiff with hubby so a whole bar of milk chocolate fell into the trolley then into my mouth while putting the bags in the car. Why did I not even think of motivation/eye sight/weight gain? All I wanted to do was smother the hurt.
Bg went from 6 to 12. 2 hours to get back down to 6. Now at 4. Still cross with myself

D: Salmon with courgettes fried in butter and olive oil. Cauliflower. Sauce made from blitzing an avocado with tomato and olive oil. 2 glasses red wine.

It is like me!
I'm just an idiot reading a 150 page and very dry 20 year old thesis written in pretty good but definitely not first language good English in preparation of a first date, only because said date wrote it and I want to be prepared. And this is what I could find on him on the internet.
And he isn't even active in the field his thesis was about anymore, having moved from sociology research to being a miller on a traditional Dutch windmill over 10 years ago...

So either I'm the icky stalker type, or else I'm simply too bored and I'll take any excuse to occupy my brains.

We've just had a first phonecall, both slightly under the influence and very amusing.
A delightful mixture of genuine interest and mild teasing on points of view to see if we can coax the other into taking the bait.
This date is looking more and more interesting!

But first I'll have to survive the second job interview on monday, 10 am.
I'll have the date to look forward to on wednesday.

Evening meal was the third and last day of spicy peanut soup with two small fried chicken eggs and 1/3 of a marinated pork belly strip.
 
B: 2 soft boiled eggs with hm soda bread soldiers
Morning spent doing little jobs to avoid the big job I don't want to do (car insurance renwal)
Listened to Ben Bikman and some mindful meditations. Fell asleep in both!
Trying to skip lunch but had a few walnuts and olives.
Then another sleep as feeling migraine starting. Thunder clouds overhead.
A 30 minute walk for fresh air helped.
D: portobello mushrooms stuffed with bacon, cheese, cream cheese and egg, served on small salad. A high protoen pudding that came free with this week's shop. Not very nice, so chased it down with some ice cream.

Must find out why I'm in a self sabotage phase
 
For some reason I'm craving sugar at the moment - and giving in! It has to stop. I know how much damage it does long term and how it affects my BG short term. Idiot!

Had RyVita and cheese again for breakfast. The alternative was more of the veg stew from the freezer yesterday and I really didn't fancy that. I'll add some spicy sausage to it and have it for a 2nd meal later on. Maybe the sugar thing is that my meals are not very exciting at present. Worth thinking about.....
 

It sounds like something very good! Where did you meet?
Hahaha, the main thing is to look for this person in the police base I watch so many documentaries about maniacs that I feel like I won't be able to meet people soon. Even though I still don't give my address to people I don't know for long time.

What position are you applying for?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both days

yesterday I overdid my hypo treatment and barely slept all night trying to get my bg back to normal, and in the morning I didn't change the sensor and allowed my bg to rise to 14 I hate it when that happens.
