Hi Zeus,I had this 5/6 months after being diagnosed T2. I put it down to lowering my BG to normal levels too quickly (through diet only).
Pain was so bad I couldn't sleep; by pain I mean constant tingling + warm sensation on my legs/feet that kept me awake at night. Rang GP but he was clueless.
I turned to this site and learnt about Alpha-Lipoic-Acid (ALA) so ordered some on line + had some acupuncture on my legs at the same time.
Pain disappeared after a couple of weeks. Still taking ALA though (been 8 months now), not sure what will happen if I stop but for now it's all good.
Hi Zeus,
I am the same.
constant tingling + warm sensation on my legs/feet that kept me awake at night.
What Alpha-Lipoic-Acid do you recommend?
It has only just started but it is worrying. Especially seeing that I managed to lower my HbA1c down to 50 from 60.
I have been looking at these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Capsules-Supplement-Antioxidant-Sensitivity-Metabolism/dp/B07D2J5GG9/ref=sr_1_4?adgrpid=55752611440&dd=wq3xMuzLyl1Owxt2Mx7dCtNGzeC2M1AGI-JCm90QnS4,&ddc_refnmnt=free&gclid=Cj0KCQjw37iTBhCWARIsACBt1IwDueKkFPb0NHVOVuTpQwO9Lj8js9q3Vdd2o2YTrqMvanfz_bpfLKkaAmtoEALw_wcB&hvadid=259038524868&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1007080&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=9166658372650052856&hvtargid=kwd-21193682&hydadcr=28152_1752810&keywords=alpha+lipoic+acid&qid=1651427500&refinements=p_101:20849010031&rnid=20849009031&sr=8-4

Hi Midiman, I started with pain about 2 years ago. It started with a burning sensation on the top of my feet and then it felt like someone was poking needles into and between my toes. Then came the joint pain and numbness on my toes. At times I had difficulty flexing my toes. I would then getting random jabbing pains all over my feet. It felt like I had tourettes as I would be kicking my feet out and swearing at the sudden pain. I started with pregabalin which helped a little bit. I put up with this for a further six months then a doctor prescribed me duloxetine. It was the first good night's sleep I had for over a year. It is a huge improvement so I hope this helps you.Hi,
I kind of have my T2 under control with a HbA1C of around 50 but I am getting a lot of tingling and burning pains.
This could be related to other medication but I am putting it down to my diabetes for now.
I was wondering if there is anything that you can do about it.
I have seen anti depressants and other drugs for it but I would like to hear from experience.
Thanks
