What is this all about?

Hiya folks. I've just watched this entire video and it reeks of bull s*&t but i thought i'd run it past you all and see if anyones heard of this guy and what he's claiming is true or if he is in fact a complete fake. Some researcher bloke who claims to have used research grant money to find a way of curing diabetes instead of producing meds to control it, He claims to have done it by eating certain foods and over the counter supplements for a few weeks then over a period of time re introducing normal carbs and finding his blood sugar levels are staying constant. Sound a bit mental.
