I've often wondered what made people decide to choose their name for on here. In my case it's a nickname my kids gave me about 10 years ago. We had 2 cats who were 16 and 17 years old. When it became time for the poor old dears to depart for the great kitty litter in the sky no one would take them on their final journey to the vet. So it was left to me to do the dirty deed. Since then I have been labelled killerkaz, the kids used to keep changing my passwords on my phone, laptop, and anything else they could get their hands on. I blessed the day they left home.

The Robin (redbreast) is my favourite garden bird, but I just get called RRB or Robin for short

When I signed up it said name (note not username) so put my name as I expected to choose my username later in the account process. Stuck with my name now.

I used to run a Entertainments Agency and I was lucky enough to meet the great Count Basie at the Fairfield Halls and he played the tunes Satin Doll and Little Darlin just for me.

I wanted a different user name to my usual one as I decided that my diabetes was not part of my other "real" interests and hobbies, but wasn't feeling particularly inventive or inspired when I joined, so used on of my pets' nicknames which was the first thing that came into my head.

Robbity

PS I love your reason for choosing yours, Satindoll - it makes it rather special, doesn't it!

Mine was what I had to keep telling myself in the early days of this thing.

".......... And breathe........

That's lovely. What a great memory for you

No special reason for me; it's just a kind of play on my name.

My name is Si, its also the noise I make everytime I interact with any healthcare peoples ;-) I have owned Type 2 VWs (Bay window camper) and also have type 2 diabetes. In reality i just went with my name and t2 for diabetes stage no matter how i dress it up ;-)

My father was called Ken but for some reason the family got into the habit of calling him Bruce, he also used to call both me and my sister Jane, funnily enough the right one always answered............

I like the T2 Camper van reference i don't think i'll look at T2s the same now, i love em. There is a yellow T2 that parks outside my bedroom window every day i want it.
