Seems you could improve with a good diet.
The gliclazide stimulates the increase of insulin overall, hence the hypos previously.
As you have got your bs down to a normal level, and come off the gliclazide, whenever you eat a "spikey" food, you still can't produce insulin in quantity quickly to control the bs levels, hence the 10's.
A change back to a good diet would be advantageous, as it'll put less load on you to produce insulin. Spikes aren't good, so again it would help.
Losing weight always seems to help as well.
Your Hb1ac is good though, but be careful it doesn't start to creep up if you do keep eating junk, as it well might.
It's better to keep it down by good food as soon as possible, and the diet is better long term, as it'll catch up with you sooner rather than later otherwise.
