Hi

My Hb1a(c) level is 58. Does anyone know what this is equivalent to in mol/l? The readings I am getting on my meter are around 8.4 which according to the chart provided says it’s borderline.

I'm not quite sure what you mean?

There is 2 ways of measuring hba1c, the one you have stated and a mmol/mol which yours would be 7.5% in the "older" way, it equates to an average BG of around 9.3mmol via finger prick

This isn't borderline though, this is high, as a Type 2 your targets should be 4-7mmol via finger prick before meals and under 8.5mmol at least 90 minutes after a meal

So you need to work on getting back below 48, the cutoff for T2 diagnosis.
How did you arrive at diagnosis ?
Have you recently gained weight, are you over-weight or sedentary ?
Have you tried low carb eating ?

There is way back, many on here have been far higher than your figures at diagnosis but have got back to the normal zone.
Good luck.
