I've just been given my shiny new insulin pump as my old one of 4 years is now out of warranty (is still in very good working order - the diabetes nurse even commented on how it was hard to tell the new one from the old one). Given the cost of the pumps it seems a waste to put it in a drawer especially as I already have a back up pump in case something goes wrong.
Does anybody know of a charity or organisation who will take used insulin pumps?
The Independent Diabetes Trust accepts unwanted supplies for developing countries. http://iddt.org/here-to-help/helping-developing-countries
They will take unwanted insulin, lancets, test strips, so you could ask them about a pump.
