Hi All Hope everyone doing fine and keeping well
Just lost my father-in-law last friday and will be going to the funneral next wednesday , I've come here because I have bit of a delemar, our Families are from the east end of London and there will be a toast to his life, the thing is Idon't know what to order they will be offended if I ask for a diet lemonade or coke. and as I haven't had a real drink since l've been on the meds l don't know what to do, used to drink dry martini and lemonade but don't know what would happen if l had one of those.
The other problem being l'm going to be so far from home at this funneral l have to travel with my husband and son to Northampton from Wales and we will be staying in a bed and breakfast for two nights because of the distance, l've been having high readings l seem to cope during the day but when l test before bed l've been having high numbers for me last night was my highest so far bs9.8.
l've been taking my meds like normal but on getting up and laying dow the room seems to spin l've been sitting on the side of the bed till it stops. l'm also taking meds for underactive thyroid and ashma l'm sorry this post is so long l wouldn't bother you all but as l say l'm going to be so far from home, my Dr and dieabetic team who are so good to me compared to some that l've read about please can you help thanks .

I'm sorry for your loss Dumpling, may his passing have been peaceful.
I would suggest maybe a glass of red wine if that is available. Not to much impact on the blood sugar.May I suggest a trial run, just have a glass of red wine in your house and see how it affects you then you will not have to worry so much at the funeral about the effect.
I think you need to discuss with your doctor about your dizziness on getting up ,do you take blood pressure medications perhaps?
When you are able to read the forum a bit more maybe you would like to tell us about the things you eat to see if we can help you get your blood sugar levels down.
