Does anyone know where I can get some? I'm eating the linseed and soy bread and it doesn't affect my BS much but the wheat gives me a headache.

You could try your local (big) supermarket - e.g. Sainsbury's has Freefrom bread ("Gluten, wheat and dairy free white sliced loaf"). However...

wait for it...

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell you to stop eating bread altogether.

Nope, not true and not fair..Eat to your meter is what I see everyone advising,if people can eat bread with good BG's then that's great!

Genius do quite a nice gluten free loaf - the brown is the best, in my opinion. Most supermarkets do their own brand stuff, but some of it is not particularly tasty! You could, alternatively, try making your own

As a wheat intolerant Type 2, I don't eat bread at all. I don't replace it with the gluten free stuff. No bread = less carbs.

Hi. What do you eat say with a boiled egg, it's really hard even fried eggs? I always think its not enough to eat. I never realised how hard it would be to reach my calories on low carb diet. I only get up to about 800 to 900 hundred cals. And I have 50 carbs.
Wheat and gluten free breads are very high in carbs don't know why.

Boiled egg with cold meats and cheese - yummy!

Hey Maddie!

I have boiled eggs with two Debbie&Andrews sausages (2g carb each) to dip in them. These sausages are great hot or cold! Delicious!

Smidge

I love D&A sausages. Great low carb but higher calories Maddy, these would really help.

Dear Maddimo1 - I always feel that I need to eat softboiled or fried eggs with bread or hashbrowns (I make low carb ones of course) - you could always bake your own low carb bread, to start you off here is the easiest and quickest recipe ever and it has proved to be very popular with quite a few members already.

You can add herbs or spices to the mixture or sprinkle with seeds before baking, it turns out really well each and every time, and it really is delicious.

Have a look here: http://www.travelinglowcarb.com/680/low ... ad-recipe/

And this one, a variation of the one above, goes really well with curries and soups - I add spinach or coriander leaves, nigella seeds, garlic, or onion - super quick to make, you cant go wrong

This recipe is from the US isn't it, also the sausages because haven't seen them over here. Pity sounds delicious.

Maddiemo1 - you can buy Debbie & Andrews sausages in most supermarkets, and yes the bread recipe is from the US, but you still can buy all the ingredients and bake the bread in the UK or whichever country you are from.
