Email the ceo Oliver Morley and tell him yr prob mine got sorted doin that and explain the situationHi all, Just a quick note to update those interested. I have finally got my car and bike licence re-instated. It took 11 weeks and countless phone calls to get back to where I was before. Still no decision on my HGV entitlement and no reason for revoking or re instating my car and bike licence. Now I have a letter to say that they apologise for the time taken so far but wish to make further enquiries and this will take time. So be patient.
As voiced by others on this forum it is as though dvla don't want insulin users to drive!!!!!!!
That happened to me as to AV heart stress test every 2yrs all this form filling gets u down and like they say no sooner u get it bk it's time to start all over agen I'm done with it now not botherin I'll just keep to a car licence just turned 62 and a lot ov stress invovked with it good luck anywayHi, I am also feeling discriminated against. As a HGV driver I had a heart problem in 2012 resulting in the loss of my HGV licence and consequently job. Diagnosed diabetic 6 months later and treated with insulin immediately (as it was kinder to my heart supposedly). My heart specialist informed me in 2015 that my heart condition was much improved and after a MRI stress test (not a nice experience) was told that there was no reason why I could not regain my licence. So I applied. After a 8 week wait to be considered I've had a DVlA appointment with my doctor to check my meter reading etc and yesterday in the post I get a letter informing me that my licence has been revoked. That's all categories including car. So now no driving at all. Just what I need as my wife has just had a knee replacement and cannot drive for 6 weeks at least.
It seems that the doctor may have ticked a wrong box on the form so in effect I am banned until I sort it out.
I would just like to point out that I have never had a hypo my management of my diabetes is good and i have a meter with at least 2 readings daily.
It seems that one question was do you test and record your glucose levels every 2 hours when driving to which i replied no as I am not working and do not currently drive further than the local shops or doctors 2 miles away. I said this because the record on the meter would not show many extra readings.
Thats enough for DVLA to withdraw my licence.
Is it any wonder that I feel like a victim. No job, no benefits (another story), had to sell my home and move 200 miles form my life of 35 years.
Feel like your life is over - Its getting that way!!!
