Well done Zola for Billy Connelly . If I had put comedian you would have got it right away.
 
Two of the clues make me think of the film Birdcage.
Anyway I am going to guess.
I think it is Robin Williams. R.I.P.

1st clue was the redcoat meaning holiday camp = Dirty Dancing.
2nd clue was 2 watermelons from Dirty Dancing.
3rd clue was the lake form Dirty Dancing where the famous dance took place.
4th clue was a dancing shoe from Dirty Dancing.
5th clue was a ghost from Ghost.....

I have just realised that Catherine Cookson writes all those period dramas which I love that are usually on Yesterday on a Sunday afternoon.

I love the Rag Nymph... And The Gambling man.....
 
I used to read her books all the time. Well Done Zola.
