Who are they?

Maggie Thatcher lol, she's the first name that popped into my head !!
Gosh it could be right enough RR.
Never thought of her as a Maggie look-a-like.

Sadly it's not Maggie, but you did the right
thing, if a name comes to mind post it in.

*Zola slaps head*

How the hell didn't I get that with all those fine clues....

I checked the pic Sancho and you appear to be right. But I have looked at her Wiki page and don't see anything about a confidence trickster? And I don't understand the honey reference.....

Well done Sancho.

I will be interested to hear what she did!!! And where pink cockatoos come into it hahahahaa have a good day y'all!!! Xxx

I think Barbara Cartland was born in Birmingham buried in a cardboard box , loved "Cartland" pink, wore hats and wrote books.
Willies clue was quite clever, but I twigged quite soon but thought best to hang on for a while.
Tough cookie: Dame Barbara, who was the most prolific novellist in ...was a consummate confidence trickster and a tough customer, but she did not ...She managed to pull the wool over a great many eyes, including, ... Of course it was true, she insisted - hers was the oldest recorded family in British history.
Therefore I think Sancho Panza is correct

When you said something about a box Izzzi I assumed she was murdered and ended up in a box.....

Went on quite a wild goose chase with that assumed information....

I am sorry, I thought you would have recognized her well before my daft clues

I didn't have a clue as to who she was Izzzi. I was quite surprised when her identity was revealed......

lets hope Wee Willie soon puts up more recognizable pictures for you.
Ss you can tell I am clues person. Willie will soon make it harder for me.

I am pretty useless at clues though. If it isn't a recognisable face I'm done for really....

But I am so glad Willie is back as he does get the old grey matter working eh....

Barbara Cartland.

Incidentally, the background image below is the notorious Glasgow
slums before Glasgow Council got their act together, demolished
them and rebuilt the entire area many many years ago.....

A million light years away from BC's standard of living, eh.

But nobody will guess the next one ......

zola, the info's in Tim Heald's biography of Barbara Cartland.

She maintained "honey" was the key to her longevity.

damonfrog, the emphasis is on the word, "pink" another good clue again from izzzi.
Of course, it's easy when you know the answer, innit?

-----------------------------
Why is that word "innit" so popular nowadays?

'reckon Jeremy Kyle's the one to blame.

So, do you have a little tinkle now-and-again izzzi?

May I tell you something completely different. The great band leader Victor Silvester bought his car in Greenock just to gain the registration
"VS 1212"
Sorry it was the Victor name that got me going into my petrol head.
