Who are they?

I cheated and took izzzi's answer and looked up images of Jerry Lewis. I didn't know that he was ill.

I had a look too and Izzzi is right.

I would NEVER have got that one.

Well dome Izzzi.

On Sunday I knew it was Jerry Lewis , just by the picture.
It has now dawned on me why. I used his child photo previously, this was one of my daft clues

I can't see the link between **** Yankees and Jerry Lewis
I have been trawling the musical cast.

Jerry Lewis

.
.... But you won't guess the next one

If I'm remembering correctly, it was his medication
for various ailments that effected his weight >>>>>
pulmonary fibrosis, meningitis and an over the top
dose of steroid prednisone.

I'm sure he suffered various other ailments including,
I think, diabetes.

Hah, that was a good clue izzzi.

d@@m I think it was the d and m for his partner Dean Martin.

Plus, he appeared on Broadway as the devil in a revival of **** Yankees.

It doesn't appear so in the pic, but the next day was to be the last day.
When it came, a little emotional tear let him down.

Good luck everyone.

Glenn Miller.

But I can't find the picky anywhere.....

this clue has lost me,I sure there is a song somewhere in there
I don't think it's Glen Miller as his face comes across slighter bigger.
His eyes and brows seem to be recognizable,

I don't think it's Glenn Miller now. I wonder if Willie means 'last day' to be the day he died. Never can be sure with Willie eh.
I am going to have a dig on the 'emotional tear' and do a bit of digging on that.

Little emotional tear came up with nothing except tales of people crying over their dead dog etc but when I Googled Little tears I had a bit more luck.

Little Bitty Tears.Burl Ives sung it in 1961.

It is Burl Ives.

Obvious really isn't it. Now I know I see it in the picture.

Now to dissect the clue....

I think you right Zola, I am sure that tune was in the back of my head,

The clues did throw me in the sad and wrong direction.

The last what, I wonder??

Izzzi. You astound me at times..... You are so clever.....

Then we share the award Izzzi. I insist......

Thanks Willie for your great piccies and astoundingly good clues. It's so good to have you back...

*Sniff*.........
