Insulin takers have to take protein and fat into consideration too.
Type2s don't have the first response insulin without inj insulin before consumption.
Low carb removes that first response need!
But if one goes very low carb all the overweight will melt off and that is a motivator too , when that has happened and with added exercise one can maybe eat more carbs without spiking as much because of less insuline resistance , it seems so in my case
