Wonky BG readings

I had an inkling that my blood sugar was out of whack so have been testing using my husband's BG meter for a few weeks now. I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow to discuss my readings and next steps. There's something going on.

I have been eating low carb which I do find a very good way of eating for me - I feel much better eating this way.

Last week though, I had a reading of 2.6. It was random - I think it was between 2 and 3 hours after eating a low-carb bread and cheese sandwich but not sure. I was feeling OK and after I tested, I could tell I was a bit light-headed but nothing much. I often test under 4. Using the same meter, though, I can get high reading and my husband using the meter has had quite consistent readings. It's a Precision xTra on prescription from the doctor. Does that reading with no real effects seem out of line or do others experience this the same way I did? I see people reporting hypos when going under 4 but I haven't had the same experience.

Any suggestions?

My understanding is that unless you are a Type 1 diabetic or a Type 2 on drugs that affect blood sugar levels, you would not be in danger of a true hypo. Maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can expand on this further. Hopefully this will bump your post up.
