Not sure if everyone has seen this yet but it is quite interesting especially when you consider who is saying it...

Oh ye of great faith.Very encouraging. Let's hope the NHS pay attention.
It's an interesting video and he seems credible - though I bet there's someone else with credentials who could argue the opposite. It's difficult not knowing whom to believe.
But I think there is a bit more to it than just 'eat more salt' or all fats are 'protective'. Of course this might not apply to everyone equally.
I must confess I still struggle to accept that sat fats are healthy to it in lchf amounts. I cannot shake that off - and I know what my gp would say too!
In fact a friend of mine was diagnosed with type 2 a few months ago and he went to a healthy eating class provded through the nhs. They taught him the conventional wisdom: low salt, low sat fats, etc. He's lost 16kg in 3 months. What can I say to that? I said nothing of course, I'm not going to tell him what he's doing isn't working, how could I prove that? Meanwhile I'm on day 16 of LCHF and haven't lost a single gram.
Not trying to focus on me, btw. Just making the point
I'm interested.
I do wonder why I started having physical signs of heart disease only once I started vlchf?
What has changed to cause symptoms? Was inflammation only triggered once I increased carbs after the honeymoon period of vlc? Inflammation causing my immobility and new to asthma?
Meanwhile I'm on day 16 of LCHF and haven't lost a single gram.
I haven't lost any weight either over the past 18 mths. But I am happy with my glucose/insulin levels...
From what I've observed anyone new to dieting has more success first time round. A psychologist would know more why.
I too have very low salt, all my life but still have acute hypertension on 3 tablets.
I was ok on pork scratchings but when stopped eating it weight loss was no ware to be seen. I was losing weight on my first attempt which held no added fat. Then I added too much fat for me! Guess what happened?
