Xenical/Diabetes and Oils

Messages

Since being told that I have diabetes I have lost 4 stone by diet and with help from Reductil. The weight has stopped coming off now either I have got used to Reductil or I have become a bit too lax with my diet.
I do not like fish so take a capsule of Omega 3 everyday and an evening primrose oil capsule to help me avoid Pre period tension which gives me awful migraine lasting 2-3 days.

I am about to try Xenical as I still have 5 stone to lose so will I still be able to take the capsules? :? I am going on this medication to ensure that I stick to a low fat diet.

Thanks for any help.

Cautions

may impair absorption of fat-soluble vitamins;(orlistat)

Multivitamins

If a multivitamin supplement is required, it should be taken at least 2 hours after orlistat dose or at bedtime

This is from the BNF.Best thing is to check with either doctor or Pharmacist to be sure.

Keep low fat if using it, Xenical has a horrible effect if you eat fats.
As a diabetic, have you thought of switching to low carb? More effective for weight loss and will help control the diabetes too. Look around the forum for info.
