I suffer from an intense itching of the skin over my shin bone (tibia) The skin there is thin and easily broken so if I scratch I break the skin and get a sore that takes weeks to heal. I read in a magazine that I should use moisturising cream and mostly it works-if it does not work then I use Eurax cream that always works.
I had exactly the same problem. I had it for a few years,it would come and go. Since being diagnosed and changing my diet it's cleared up and hasnt come back,so I assume it was to do with my higher blood sugar levels. Levels under control now so have been free for the last 6 months.
Creams didn't work for me.

This!
Itchy legs for years. Now diagnosed with diabetes, it only itches if my sugars are higher than they should be. I used to take a piriton every night to try and combat the itch.

My wife a non diabetic has a similar sounding problem .. We found it was the Painkiller ibuprofen that was causing the problem. Took about three weeks for it to clear .. And a day to restart after taking the ibuprofen !

Hello,
Skin itchiness is common with anyone but broken and thin skin is something serious issue. I guess you need to try some moisturizer and most important thing check your sugar level in blood might be it will cause for skin damage…
