Almased® is a new approach to a healthy diet. Over 25 years of scientific research has enabled Almased® to become the No.1 weight loss product in Germany. Today, more than 35 clinical studies conducted by nutritional scientists across the world have shown the effectiveness of Almased® in achieving and maintaining weight loss, an essential contributory factor to overall health and wellbeing.

Almased® is a high-quality fermented blend of soya, yogurt and enzyme-rich honey with added vitamin and minerals, providing more protein than any other meal replacement in the UK today. With its high biological value protein and low glycaemic index, this formula is suitable for those with Diabetes. Most importantly, clinical testing has highlighted superior weight loss results in participants using Almased® when compared to those engaged in a fat-restricted low calorie diet.
Almased® is Germany's No.1 meal replacement programme for healthy, sustainable weight loss. We offer two programmes that you can follow, depending on your weight loss goals.

Long-Term Plan: For healthy, long-term weight loss.

Phase 1: Initiation Phase. In this phase, your regular meals are replaced with Almased® (50g Almased® powder mixed with 200-350ml of water or 200ml of low-fat milk and 2tsps of essential fatty acids i.e. flaxseed, walnut, olive or rapeseed oil). In addition, during this phase, it is recommended to consume vegetable soup as an additional meal to your three shakes. Please note: This phase should not be continued for more than 2 weeks as this will result in unhealthy weight loss.

Phase 2: Reduction Phase. This phase supports steady and healthy weight loss. During this time, two regular meals (preferably breakfast and dinner) are replaced with Almased®. Your other meal should be high in protein, lower in carbohydrates and rich in vegetables. This phase can last up to six weeks or until your desired weight has been achieved.

Phase 3: Stabilisation Phase. This phase slowly accustoms your body to an increase in the consumption of regular meals, helping to support the body’s energy needs, while retaining muscle integrity. By replacing one meal, this can help maintain weight after weight loss. This phase can be continued for as many weeks as you desire.

Phase 4: Life Phase. Incorporating Almased® into your daily balanced diet is encouraged following your weight loss. Almased® can be used as a go-to healthy nutritious snack during the day or pre or post-exercise.

The 14-Day Plan: For timely, effective weight loss in 2 weeks.

Initiation Phase - Days 1-3: Reset your system, three Almased® drinks plus an optional bowl of vegetable soup.

Reduction Phase - Days 4-7: Two Almased® drinks (breakfast, dinner) plus one high-protein, vegetable rich lunchtime meal.

Stabilisation Phase - Days 8-10: Two balanced meals plus one Almased® drink (dinner).

Life Phase - Days 11-14: Incorporate Almased® into your daily balanced diet as a go-to healthy nutritious snack during the day or pre or post exercise.
Almased® contains a high proportion of plant based protein and a reduced carbohydrate content which results in the product having a low glycaemic index (27) and an extremely low glycaemic load (4). Due to the formula's low GI and GL, once consumed, Almased® is slowly absorbed into the body and ensures blood glucose levels are only raised slightly while the body’s requirement for insulin is reduced. As a result of this lower insulin requirement, fat stores are utilised for energy making it possible for users to lose weight.
Numerous past and present studies have shown that Almased® has a positive effect on weight loss, unhealthy body fat, weight maintenance and more importantly, for those with Type 2 diabetes, improve glycaemic control.

Results from clinical testing found that people with Type 2 diabetes who replaced just one daily meal with Almased® (50g serving with 200ml of low-fat milk or 200-350ml of water and 2 tsps of oil) experienced healthy weight loss. As a result of such weight loss, there were improvements in fasting blood sugar levels, fasting insulin and long-term blood sugar levels 1.

Furthermore, in 2012, a 12-week trial conducted by the German Diabetes and Health Centre further demonstrated that those with Type 2 diabetes and severe insulin resistance - receiving an average of 150 IU of insulin per day - were able to halve their daily insulin requirement in 2 weeks simply by following the below diet plan with Almased® 2. Following on from the the initial 12-week study, 15 months later, participants who had continued to replace 1 daily meal with Almased®, maintained their weight loss, exhibited lower HbA1c values than at the beginning of the trial and most significantly, further reduced daily insulin requirements 3.
