Dear Clivethedrive,
When you say that you are fasting, is that a normal overnight fast, or are you fasting at other times throughout the day? I ask because I read an article by Dr. Michael Mosley, where he recorded very low BGLs after fasting for four days. But on second thought, you wouldn't be doing that anyway, because of driving so much. I'm a bit silly, sometimes- these are enviable numbers - well done!

One week completed on a LCHF diet and this afternoon my meter arrived so I gave it a try the reading 1 hour after lunch which was 3 Strawberries 10 blackberries and 10 blueberries with double cream and my reading was 11.0 so my ? is how bad is that and I need advice regarding using the meter I am type 2 I am taking 2/500ml Metformin in the morning after food and 1/500ml Metformin in the evening. Thanks

Hi merrylizard, this is very carefully managed lchf regime trimed to the bone ....to see how low i can tolerate o'night fasting . By breakfast i have always been around 4.8 and have not felt any untoward effects yet:)

When I have berries I have a few less than you, but I add chopped nuts and seeds, gives a bit more protein and less sugar. I use Total yogurt, but i have read that some people mix the yogurt and cream (not sure if I like the sound of it but it seems popular!). I also read that someone uses the frozen berries to mush them more into a jam type thing to mix better with the yog/cream. Also, i don't know if I am right, but I test 2 hours later, so hopefully your reading would have been even lower… have fun using the meter!
