So I've been on LCHF for 2 weeks now and I barely have any RH symptoms. After I was diagnosed with RH several years ago, they sent me to a dietician who said I would need to focus on modified carbs. I tried that for a month, it didn't help and the food was so disgusting that I stopped eating it.
I also cut down on the amount of sugar intake by reading product labels and whilst that did help it didn't fix the problem. I didn't have any more hypos but I still got the pre-cursor symptoms of low BG even though actual BG was 4.6mmol/l for example. Another major symptom I had was an insatiable appetite. I love my food but I don't need it (besides nutritional purpose), I'm not addicted to eating out of habit, I don't snack eat, I don't like junk food, the vast majority of my food is prepared from raw ingredients.
Yet I came to the conclusion this year my food was poisoning me somehow and I started eliminating things. So now I feel I've cracked it, eliminating carbs has done the job. Virtually instant result, some would say miraculous recovery. I was a very sick person, the difference is phenomenal.
The one thing I'm still getting which I honestly hope goes away and I typically get a tension type headache after I've eaten. It's worse if I'm tired and better if I'm not. I really wish I could get to the bottom of that because it ruins my day, every day. And I could do without shovelling painkillers into me all the time.
