Okay so I'm 26 weeks and 4 days pregnant with a healthy baby boy. At my midwife appt yesterday she said that glucose was found in my urine. And has referred me for glucose tolerance testing in 11 days. Does this mean I have gestational diabetes? And could my baby already be big?

Your midwife is wanting to confirm or not whether you may have gestational diabetes . If it is confirmed then they will offer treatment and keep a close eye on you and your little son. I had gestational diabetes confirmed at 37 weeks, my daughter was born at 38 weeks weighing in at 7lbs 10 ozs.Good luck for your glucose tolerance test hope all goes well.

Thankyou for yor help. do u know if this would have affected my baby already? An if I keep to a strict diet will this help my baby not gain so much weight?
