    Libre 2 Sensor free trial

I've just seen that Abbot are offering a free trial of their Freestyle Libre 2 sensor: https://sample.freestyle.abbott/gb-en/freestylelibre.html I notice however that there is a very limited list of phones it will work with - i.e. not my newish Xiaomi Remi Note 9S. Is there a way round this?

    3 months Tandem Control IQ

I thought you might be interested in seeing some data from the last 3 months with Control IQ, Tandem's hybrid loop system. It took a while to get the settings "right" & I was already doing pretty well before Control IQ. The main improvement for me is the reduced mental "load". Yes I still think...

    Control IQ overnight

I've had this for a few days now & I'm loving the fact that I've woken up each morning at around 6. If I start the night a bit high, or a bit low, it takes 2 or 3 hours to make the adjustment, but then stays flat in the 6's. Very importantly I know nothing about it until I wake up in the...

    Background Retinopathy

After my recent eye photograph I received a letter stating I have background retinopathy as I have for the last 10+ years. Since they started using digital photography I've asked the photographer to show me the problem area. They always tell me they can't see anything. Nor can my optician who...

    Hypo Warning Signs

My early warning sign for a hypo is a visual disturbance. I get a small area of "shimmering" in the centre of my vision. Anyone else see this? It's a little confusing as this is also how migraines begin for me. However if it is a migraine the disturbance then spreads outward to the periphery...

Advised not to inject in my arms?

I've just been in to see my DSN nurse. We were having a nice chat & I mentioned injecting in my arms. She tells me that current advice is not to use the arms because of the risk of injecting into muscle. Never heard this before, has anyone else?

I was just looking at this page of the NHS Type 1 information hub: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/type-1-diabetes/insulin-pumps/ I had thought you weren't officially allowed to self fund an insulin pump?
