    Pancreatitis Insufficiency?

Okay, I meant being overweight is/was my only risk factor, though not massively so (dress size 16, now 10-12). I'm taking Glimepiride, 2mg with main meal of the day, not with breakfast. No C-peptide test as yet, got to have all gastro tests completed first - Diagnosed with Colitis, probably...

    Pancreatitis Insufficiency?

Hi, after being diagnosed as Type 2 4 & 1/2 years ago, not being able to get good control and trying several meds, Pancreatitis Insufficiency has now been mentioned. My blood sugar is always high (6-9) in the morning before breakfast, then hypo between breakfast and lunch, (2-4) then high after...

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

Well, it turns out that I don't have Coeliac's Disease, but I do have an egg allergy, Mast Cell Activation and possibly Crohn's or Collitis, still waiting for further testing on those. I finally got skin prick testing and have had lots of my allergies confirmed. I started on Nalcrom food allergy...

    HB1AC creeping up...

Thanks for replies. I am allergic most fruits, though can eat some dried, so have been given permission to include a small amount of dried fruits in my diet! To clarify, I DO NOT eat the 2 hourly toast doctor recommended. I cook almost all meals from scratch and try to add in as much veg as...

    HB1AC creeping up...

It's all really tricky....I have to eat some carb at every meal, or I get hypos. Doctors solution to hypos is to eat toast every 2 hours! I think that is madness, so eat varied carbs at each meal, but not more than 100gr a day. I can't exercise much as I have two failed hernia...

    HB1AC creeping up...

As the title says, my HB1AC is creeping up despite having good control previously. I can't tolerate Metformin or Metformin Slow Release, Gliclizade wasn't very effective so was switched to Glimeperide. Dosage was upped, HB1AC has gone up. Blood pressure and cholesterol are fine. I am having...

    Prednisolone and high blood sugar

I have been on Glimepiride 2mg per day for quite a while and things are going fine as long as I eat enough carbs to avoid hypos! (Carbs at every meal, on doctors orders) But, I am having yet another allergic reaction and it is my brother's wedding next weekend, my face is swollen and red so the...

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

Type 2 diabetes DOES NOT guarantee Coeliacs Disease. I'm not sure why you feel the need to have a rant at me. Anyway, I have my first appointment at the gastro clinic next week so hopefully I will find out soon if I do have Coeliacs Disease.

    Type 2 having hypos???

Just wondering if anyone else has hypos? I thought Type 2's weren't supposed to have hypos. My blood sugar is always high in the morning before breakfast (6-7), if I have scrambled eggs and tomato it goes up to (8-9) toast makes it shoot up (13-15), by lunch time, say 5 hours later it will be...

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

Thankyou for all the replies :) I'm trying to just eat alternatives rather than gluten free foods, I did try Gluten free crispbreads, but they were very sweet. I'm not fussy with food but have so many food allergies that it is easier for me to steer away from processed foods anyway. I saw the...

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

I must admit, I'm not looking forward to going back on to gluten! I also have a severe nickel allergy, which is apparently why I was allergic to the Vitamin B12 injections....if only someone had of asked me first...it was the dermatologist that I was referred to for allergies was the one who...

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

I've also got a referral to an allergy clinic, so hopefully will find out soon....I was thinking it was probably another food allergy, but the GP suggested Coeliac disease.

Anyone have Coeliac Disease and Type 2?

Yes, I realise that, it was just a personal experiment, bearing in mind it will be several months before the gastro referral comes through, I am going to stay gluten free for a month, let me and my body have a rest from all the symptoms and then go back onto gluten ready for the appointment.

I have a dash of skimmed milk, or just black...I can't stomach weak milky tea, so cream would be disgusting (for me ;) ) but I quite like in cream in coffee!

    Sugar Free Biscuits?

Lol...I think the excitement of sugar free and biscuit in the same packet got to me and I didn't read the carbs info on the back! So, now I've got them, are they slightly better than regular biscuits or does it not make any difference? Carbs are 4.5g per biscuit vs 6.9g in the rich tea I...

    Sugar Free Biscuits?

I found some sugar free biscuits in Home Bargains! They are lovely (digestives and shortbread which taste like rich tea) and I do miss a couple of biccies with a cup of tea in the afternoon....especially when the rest of the family is tucking in! But, they have about the same amount of carbs as...

    Under 40's Type 2 Ladies???

Hi, I am 37 and was diagnosed Type 2 almost two years ago. I am taking 1x Gliclazide per day. I stick to under 100g of carbs a day, if I go too low then my blood sugar drops below 3 and I feel awful :( I was on Metformin, but it gave me terrible stomach problems, which got much worse when my GP...
