Hello everyone,
My little boy was diagnosed in January after going into hospital as DKA which was very scary to say the least! After a few days in HDU we took him home and he's now on basal/bolus injections, we inject him 4 times a day. We all found it very hard and I felt guilty for not noticing the signs (before DKA).
We've been having lots of problems with his nursery and his personality seems to have changed a bit, but I don't know if that's me imagining it or not. He has taken everything in his stride and seems to accept the blood sugar tests and the injections, however he still doesn't understand he can't have certain things to eat whenever he wants.
I was hoping to find similar people to myself who understand because I don't know anyone else who has a child with type 1 diabetes.
