[QUOTE="yetta2mymom, post: 1564221, member: 279057"] Hi A doctor on television (I meet his wife in passing but do not know his name) said he tested his weight loss method on a group of people. About 1/10 of them did not lose weight on his diet. His wife who I meet in passing says he uses an Atkins style diet (also now called low carb). He made a big point that they must have been lying but he had a moment of genious he looked at their glucose tolerance tests and saw that their blood sugar continued to rise, although it slowed its assent, for the 2 hours of the test. Since we can live on a hunter gather diet, he named the people with my gene as having a "hunter" gene. I have a guess that the gene involved may be one that was recently found in mice where a mutation of the gene lead to unexplained weight gain. I guess that we are in the minority in most populations because women can not turn off the hormones which make them insulin resistant without turning off the hormones produced by the placenta to make the baby insulin resistant.
