Looking for a GP with an interest and understanding of diabetes. Would you suggest anyone? Cheers
The consultant from the hospital clinic agreed last year to changing synthetic insulin to animal insulin and several days later said I would have to come back to clinic so he could warn me of potential risks. Perhaps stupidly, and stubbornly, I didnt go - now he refuses to treat me. The GP has admitted he feels unconfident to prescribe without the approval of the consultant.
The Levemir is causing sleeplessness, cramps and aches in my legs and developing a tendency to go very low before having warning symptoms. Generally need a doctor and one willing to prescribe animal insulins. Seeing a doctor in Edinburgh area would be easiest, but am willing to travel and see a doctor privately. Any ideas thankfully received.
