[QUOTE="lely, post: 1531782, member: 45963"] Wow. Your very overwhelmed at the moment. Being a mum with little ones that young is a task without all this to deal with. I was diagnosed with GD in Jan 2007 and later on Sept 2007 lada same as you, no thyroid issues tho. It's does become easier as time passes as you become used to eating and preparing different foods for yourself. What type of insulin are you on, is it a mixed insulin, I started on a mixed called Novomix and after about 2/3 years of little or no control with high swings and lows I was put on the 1 background injection long acting insulin and then fast acting insulin injections with my meals. Of course I'm not sure if this would be an option but worth speaking to your diabetes team about it. I too struggle with eating pasta and rice but find if I eat it for lunches then and keep the portion around 100g I don't have too much of a problem. Eating this in the evening esp after 7 causes problems in the middle of the night for me. I know everyone is different but I find eating processed food is my achilles heal. too much and my BG go's out of control. I hope it all settles down for you.
