Does anyone know for a reliable medical source discussing eventual long-term side effects of dietary sorbitol in diabetics?
I'm aware sorbitol can cause bloating and diarrhea, but I'm interested if it has any effect on peripheral nerves or kidneys...I'm also aware that glucose can convert into sorbitol within cells and cause problems, but I'm asking about sorbitol from food.
