Wow grazer-that was a surprise :)

I like this thread but don't like the idea of posting a photo of myself but here goes anyway

Nope-technophobic and can't do it.

Can someone instruct me on how to attach a photo? (no attachment symbol at top of page. When I click "img" it doesn't do much)

Hi Choco! Looking forward to the pic!
Get a photo ready on your desktop first. It needs to be reduced in size to about 100 kilabytes say. Best to open the pic in something like microsoft office picture manager, and rather than compressing, change the actual size to about 30%.
Then, go to reply on the forum. At the bottom ,underneath "preview/submit" etc, you'll see "upload attachment" Click on that, then click on "browse" Select your pic, than press attach file. Then submit! sounds bad, but quite straightforward really.

My Strat

Nice guitar Sid!

My first guitar was a Strat copy which was pretty awful to play and my last guitar was a Gibson Firebrand 335 which I sold because I needed the money

People who think they are always right and ram their opinions down your throat. No-one knows everything. Those who shout loudest are usually the ones who actually know the least.
What lovely pictures :)

Ok here goes.

This is me in Alice Springs last June (2011). This was taken 3 days before I had my stroke. I'm holding an orphaned joey at a kangaroo sanctuary.

And this is me two weeks ago about to do some boxercise. My daughter took this picture for a friend in the States who wanted to see what I looked like after losing 4 stone.

Click the pictures for the scary full-size view.

What a difference Didie!

After meeting you last week I would never have recognised you in the first photo.
You have done so well and are an inspiration to us all.

Aw thanks grazer. I'll take any compliments I can get, whether it's from a smooth git or not

Great effort Didie! My only disappointment so far was that Sid didn't look more like his Avatar. I really wanted it to BE him ....nonononnoYES!

About 3 years before diagnosis, holding one I helped catch at home.

This was me on New Years Eve 2011, my 50th birthday. An excellent advert for a VLC diet methinks.

I got a mention in my local newspaper earlier this week, but the photo they used is about a year old.

I'm 10 days into the Newcastle diet now and determined to keep on it for 8 weeks.

Treat this photo as my "Before" one and I'll upload another one mid March - the "After" one:

Everyone looks great :)

When I look at myself in the Australian pictures it makes me shudder. It's only now that I am 100% fitter and active that I realise how unwell I was then and not really 'living', but really just existing. Life is so much better now. I'd like to go back and have that amazing holiday all over again and really enjoy it, but I don't think that is an option any more because of flying issues. Still that's a small price to pay for being alive and fit :D
