How quickly would you expect sugar levels to improve?

I was diagnosed 10 days ago with an mmol of 13+ . I've reduced carbs and sugar. This week I've got it under 10 and this evening had 7.7. Is this a normal reduction or a bit drastic?

Perfectly normal - low carb is so effective in getting numbers to go down. As you drop lower you might feel a bit wobbly - as the brain has been used to a nice warm sugary bath for a while - your meter should show normal levels - that is lower than at diagnosis but not dangerously so. I found a few grapes stopped the dizziness until I got used to generally lower levels.

Definitely feeling wobbly today and I was warned I might feel a bit rough. I'll be shopping for grapes tomorrow. Thanks for the advice x

The packs of large grapes in Lidl are good, they are not so super sweet as the smaller ones.

Carbs reduction can normalize glucose level very quickly.

I would also consider taking some virgin coconut oil as our body readjust to using alternative fuel.

Hi @suzydoozy
I was diagnosed T2 on 7th Feb and I'm now in a similar position to you. At diagnosis I had HbA1c of 98 and BG at 12.5. After a lot of reading on here (nothing from my doctor yet), I committed to an LCHF lifestyle and started BG testing .. I have had the SD Codefree and TEE 2 monitors for a few days now .. tested with both for comparative purposes and the readings have never been more than 0.1 mmol apart. My results have been good (I think) and I was just about to ask the same question as you based on what has happened so far ...

Carb Intake: (started on Feb 17th - aiming for 60g to 80g per day)
17th 87g : 18th 112g : 19th 97g : 20th 53g : 21st 103g : 22nd 47g : 23rd 49g : 24th 46g

Weight: 106.1kg at diagnosis Feb 7th - 101.4kg Feb 24th
BP: 149/101 at diagnosis Feb 7th - 121/71 Feb 24th

BG Monitoring (started on Feb 22nd)
22nd Fasting 5.7 : Pre-pr 6.3 : Post-pr 5.9
23rd Fasting 6.0 : Pre-pr 5.6 : Post-pr 6.2
24th Fasting 6.0 : Pre-pr 6.1 : Post-pr 6.5

I'm happy but I would appreciate comments ...

grapes are not the best choice of food for diabetes, actually fruit sugar is best to avoid, if you eat grapes then only eat like 4 of them a day.... a better choice would be to eat berries they have a slower raise in ones blood glucose, and even berries needs to be eaten in not too huge amounts... remember to count the carbs those foods are almost pure carb... you could eat them with whipped cream to slow the rate of raise ...
