Yeah I've been reading through that and a couple sites since you gave it to me, its in my bookmarks for further research, thank you for that :3
If you can bring yourself to try it, I think you will bring your bs down in no time and possibly manage to reduce your meds (though this should be a decision made by you and your doc) as well as shifting some weight. You won't feel hungry either. And as the fats filling you eat less. Do you have a lidl near you? For example on an lchf diet you can eat chilli with full fat mince but no rice. Full fat mince is half the price of extra lean mince.

Just a quick thought and I am no expert on this, hopefully someone else on the site might be able to fill in a bit as well. As far as I understand Lupus is an autoimmune condition, from what I've read some of the other types of diabetes (there are more than just type 1 and type 2) are also autoimmune conditions. Is it possible that the two could be linked and as far as I understand those with LADA or type 1.5 can have more problems getting there blood sugars down. Might be worth asking around on other forums as, as i mentioned, it is just something I think I have heard. At the very least it might be worth mentioning it to your doctor or Lupus specialist if you have one, (I don't always expect them to pick connections up themselves) next time you see them.

I've been trying to talk to my doctor for ages now. I was told about my lupus 8 years ago and nothing has happened, she won't send in forms to get me a specialist (plus there aren't many in New Zealand) and every time I bring up my lupus, she tells me "lets get your diabetes worked out first"

If I lived somewhere else and had a car or support, I would find a new doctor because I'm far from satisfied.

I actually have to be VERY careful with fats, as I have no gallbladder and have a stone problem. I can't eat anything fatty really, I get super sick and sore. I don't know, it's so hard, I have all these illnesses (including IBS) and all of them say not to eat one thing, eat the other, then the other says not to eat that because it's bad for you.

This is why I need my doctor to start listening to me. :(

Well you could email the doc on this website and asks what he would suggest as a diet explaining your conditions (I found him very helpful)
Good luck and hugsxxx
