Hi Everybody,

I was diagnosed at the end of last year, came on the Forum immediately but then was "advised" by the nurse at my then GP Practice not to visit the internet to find out about Diabetes! A story for another thread no doubt.

I'm on 500mg metformin twice a day and 6 months on my HB1AC is down to 49 (from 63initially).

A new GP practice and practice nurse is delighted by my HB1AC reading but worried about my cholesterol at 5.9 (not mentioned previously) and recommends the LCHF diet, so just on first week of 10 week course with Louise and am waiting for my blood monitor to arrive.

So in the meanwhile here's a bit about me

@Galja the first 20 years were easy bringing up 2 kids.

The second 20 had a few bumps in the road but we are in for the long haul.

Only 4 more for our 50th, then it's year by year to 60 years. 8)

Hi all its motorhead here just wanted to say I am originally from the steel city of south Yorkshire but now live near Glasgow in Scotland. I am type 2 diabetic and I was diagnosed with cancer 5 weeks ago I am not a religious person but I do love to hear the gregorian chant. I am also a very big opera, classical, and rock/ metal fan. I also love railways and have been in the past a big rail enthusiast I don't get out much due to ill health. I use to work in the heavy forge and melting shop but I have always worked in hot forging work from hot bolt/ rivet forging to pipe moulds and die bars to crankshafts. I am also a big lover of ghosts and the supernatural oh I do a lot of landscape photography when I can get out and about. I use a injection everyday but I am not on metformin as it causes problems for me.

hi all Dave here from near Gatwick profile name Hellrazor was a bit of a hellraiser in younger days indestructable weren't we all lol.Type 2 running at 6.8 on last blood test new blood test due in a few days everything crossed .Religion none but have respect other peoples beliefs.Sport golf very badly ball seems to go every were i don't want it to,Cycling since diagnosed do 10 miles a day on commute plus extra thrown in on days off.Been looking for info on this site for some time now and generally found what i have been looking for so thought it was time to come out of the closet so to speak and join you guys & girls.although my experience is still limited and i'm learning all the time hopefully their will come a time when i can confidently pass what i have learnt on to others .
