Introverted (on a scale of 1-10, I’m right about 100), forgetful (ever since I had chemo it’s awful—worse since COVID) geeky (especially about music and sci fi/fantasy).

Yes. Three cats.

No. It takes a lot unless I’m already stressed.

Pretty much anything that’s well done. I’m not usually keen on country or metal, but there are exceptions.

Hi, My name's Eric. I was diagnosed with T2 on Friday. I'm a 56 yr old male from Cardiff, Wales.
- This has all come as a bit of a shock, but having heard Michael Mosley talking about T2 going into remission with Diet and Lifestyle, I'm going to give it my best shot.
- I can't remember what my figures were when the doctor told me I'm seeing a nurse tomorrow to get some general check-up/guidance.

Before diagnosis, I Ioved food, Thai, Indian, and Italian, and absolutely adored carbs. Now I'm 3 days into no white carbs and as close to 800 calories daily as I can.

Countries I have visited is very limited as I only recently started travelling due to a fear of flying. I have visited Corfu, Crete, Cork, Edinburgh and Rome, I travel to experience the history of other places and spend most of my holiday visiting historical buildings and sites.

I am a massive Harry Potter fan and love to watch medical, police, crime scene and border control programmes.
I love Disney films with the original Tarzan being my favourite. Lords of the rings trilogy, Harry Potter and Jurassic Park trilogy.

I am a maths tutor, coach and mentor at my local Adult College and love my job as it's so rewarding.
I like to be around people and to help them in any way that I can.
I least like the fact that I can be emotional due to a long history of mental health and that I have no one to talk to who understands how I feel. Now I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes and again there's no one to talk to.

Glad you found Dr Mosley I believe him. I t2d about same age as you which was 20 years ago. Got into remission once. Still taking the metformin. My advice get off the carbs. I've gotten to like grains (quinoa etc) complex they're called. Keeps BG down.
Lots of good advice in here, better than most big institutions.

Hi I'm Caroline, I have had diabetes ( type 1) since 1986. A long time I know, I am very happily married, have been for the last 32 years, I have 3 children and 2 demon grandchildren ( Hahaha, I love them really) I work as a carer in a care home in my home town of Swansea, it is very challenging but I love it. My diabetes is also very challenging as I've been described as being a " brittle" diabetic with spats of highs and lows for no reason. My bs have never really been steady going to sleep with a 6.2 and waking with a 20.4 so there is a lot of correction doses going on.
I am currently waiting to see about an insulin pump but I am quite scared at the thought of it. It seems it is the last thing I can try to keep my levels steady. I enjoy going to the beach and playing with my grandkids as much as possible, so I'm hoping the pump will let me carry on for a lot longer.

After feeling thirsty and weeing a lot for a week or so, went downhill rapidly over the May bank holiday weekend and rushed to hospital with HHS and DKA. Spent 4 days in hospital and diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

After taking Lantus and Novorapid initially, now on Lantus, Metformin and a couple of days ago dapagliflozin as well.
