just thought I would share my experience with Janumet, for those unaware of this medication it is a combination of Januvia and Metformin. I don't recall the reason but my doctor decided to put me on the timed release version and I experienced climbing BS which at one point around Christmas reached numbers in the mid to upper teens 14-19. I remembered I had a few of my original Janumet tablets so I decided to take on Boxing Day and was amazed that my BS was much improved. I discussed this with my doctor who wrote me a prescription...my pharmacist could not see how this would make much difference, I took my first dose at supper and the results were as I suspected 6.1 and at bedtime 6.4. Blood Sugars remain good. If you are experiencing increasing highs on timed release version request changing to regular dose to see if it reacts the same as mine did.
