Hi, would someone be able to shed any light on my last test result?
I have been diagnosed as a late onset type 1. Do my results gauge me as a Type 2?
Thank you

Hi,
The HBA1c doesn’t necessarily give you the answer, unfortunately the majority of Doctors and Nurses don’t understand diabetes, and only treat the symptoms and not the underlying causes..
In 2017, I had Autoimmune pancreatic disease that after 6 months lead to me having pancreatitis, despite numerous attempts to get medical help and even on the day I nearly lost my life Ambulance crew was completely unable to help me and left me going into a coma….
I won’t bore you with the detail so, I had organ failure with my pancreas which resulted in being insulin dependent (T1).
I have a Libre style sensor to measure blood glucose, and I use NovoRapid insulin which I calculate after the sensors reading, I use Toujeo insulin every night to help regulate insulin levels throughout the night and OMEPRAZOLE twice daily for digestion, as my pancreas has lost the ability to produce one of the enzymes which aid food digestion (I think it’s Cretanin) but can’t find out..
Unfortunately to this day I still can’t get the correct help or any medical professional that understands my issue, I see a consultant once a year who doesn’t understand the condition and only last week has cancelled my annual appointment for the second year running, I have been trying for 7 years to get a C-Peptide test and they always either don’t have the gold top blood vial or lose my bloods, so I have given up on the so called medical professionals!!!!
The moral of the story is don’t leave anything to chance, try to find the right people to help you, ask the hospital to test you pancreas enzymes function and maybe ask for a blood glucose test kit and what your levels should be before and after eating etc.
This is only my story, and I wish with hindsight that I could’ve have got advice from the right people who know, and had access to this forum with all the amazing people on here to give Advice from real experience then maybe I have would be normal now….Good luck and don’t give up
