Lantus has been discontinued here in Canada so I have been switched to Basaglar. I was finding that Lantus was not getting me through a 24 hour period and wondering if Basaglar will do better. Does anyone have experience with this?
I take my basal first thing in the morning which is what I was instructed to do on diagnosis and have never questioned why morning and not evening. But most mornings I wake above 10 and Libre shows that it has risen during the night.
Others have written about Tresiba which I have not heard mentioned here so do not know if it is available. I have just emailed my dietician to ask if a split dose of Basaglar might help keep me lower in the morning. As I am fairly new to all this I would appreciate further thoughts from those with experience. Thanks
