I had some concerns over a (non-diabetic) drug I'd been put on 2 and a half years ago, as the updated leaflet gave several reasons why I should be on a lower dose. I checked with the pharmacist and this was confirmed. She advised me to send a signed-for letter to my GP, as he doesn't enter dialogue about meds (putting it politely).

I wrote a masterpiece of a request to have the dose reviewed, very respectful and non-confrontational. Heard nothing for 5 weeks but it has of course been a holiday period. Checked with the pharmacy and they had received no prescription. Our surgery is so organised that you have to phone for information after a certain time - you can't go in and ask the duty receptionist. So yesterday I phoned. Yes they'd had the letter, nobody had actioned it, but they had put it on my file. And my GP had retired back in the summer.

You couldn't make it up, as they say.
