Hi,

Quick question, could someone please tell me how long Levemir lasts for? My night time readings are a bit high and I was thinking that I may have to change the time I take my evening injection.

Thanks

It suppose to last 24 hrs, but in reality, it only lasts 18 hrs.
I and others split the dose into 2, morning and night.
Speak to your DNS though before doing it.

Thanks Pilgrim,

I do split it at the moment. I take my levemir in the morning at about 7 am and I take my evening one just before bed, which can be anywhere between 10 and midnight. Didn't know whether to change and take it at 7 pm to make an equal 12 hours?

Diabetes!
After advice on here I split my dose into 3, every 8 hours, and my morning reading, which were very high, improved.

I would give the 7 pm a try, it does look like your morning dose of levemir is running out and this is why your bg is climbing late in the evening.
