I watched an Abbott Freestyle webinar last night about using Flash Glucose Monitors to manage exercise and another one about diet. I found them both interesting and it explained some of the mechanics of how exercise works for T1Ds and what different types of exercise do to our blog sugars. The food one was about the GI of food, timing of insulin and splitting dosages via MDI or pump to limit glucose variability and avoid hypos. It also explained how scanning could help you understand those trickier meals and how they affect your overall control, alongside using the AGP graph to see what happens at meal times to check carb-to-insulin ratios and correction factors.
It's worth a watch if you're interested.
